Hours: 15 hours per week (0.6)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time teacher within the Motor Vehicle department at City College Southampton.

The Motor Vehicle department has outstanding facilities which cater for full time learners from level 1 to level 3 and Light & Heavy vehicle L2 and 3 apprentices. The successful candidate will ideally have a background in Light Vehicle and/or Heavy vehicle mechanics.

Working from our St Marys site, your role will focus primarily on delivering outstanding teaching and learning. The successful candidate will also work closely with the Senior Teacher and Learning Manager for the area to ensure teaching practice is developed and assessment processes followed in accordance with award body criteria.

This post is suitable for someone considering their first teacher post; applicants will be offered the opportunity to study a teacher qualification, attendance will be in your own time but course fees are paid for by the college.

Candidates will be required to evidence a successful track record in working in the motor trade and hold a relevant Level/Part3 certificate in Motor Vehicle mechanics.

The post accrues 39 days annual leave on a pro rata basis and statutory bank holidays
