Salary: £30,000 to £32,500 (Negotiable) + £2,500 bonus for completion of role objectives
Based: Nottingham
Maternity Cover Contract to March 2020, with scope to extend


Our client is a leading, “Good” rated training organisation who works across the East Midlands region (Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire). As an organisation they offer a wide range of Training including Apprenticeships and Employability related courses. They currently have an exciting Opportunity for a Sales Manager to join their organisation on a maternity cover contract to March 2020 (with scope to extend.

With responsibility for 8 members of staff in the Sales Team, the Sales Manager will:
  • Lead a team of staff to ensure all sales targets are met.
  • Devise and maintain an overall sales strategy to meet the budget for learners across all programmes.Motivate and coach staff to meet sales targets including developing alternative sales strategies when necessary to target employers and learners
  • Challenge all practices and procedures within own role and throughout the organisation, to contribute to and ensure continuous improvement and quality

  • A proven track record of meeting sales targets in a B2B environment.
  • Experience of leading and motivating a team of Sales Advisors.
  • Determination and drive to achieve company targets. 
  • Self-motivated and able to cope under pressure. 
  • Excellent communicational skills. 
  • Excellent IT skills (conversant with Microsoft Office and social media). 
  • The ability to present to diverse audiences. 
  • Driving licence and own transport
  • Previous experience / knowledge of the further education sector
  • Experience of successfully promoting qualifications and training
  • Good relations within the further education sector

  • To develop the business by increasing occupancy of learner numbers into employed training opportunities.
  • Develop and grow a new business pipeline to meet monthly targets including levy and non-levy businesses, study programme and traineeships.
  • To maintain individual sales records and reports ensuring team performance in line with agreed KPI’s.
  • To identify underperformance and take the appropriate action with staff where necessary including coaching, development and improvement plans
  • To develop annual sales, marketing, social media campaigns and activity
  • Manage accounts with Levy employers effectively, ensuring that all opportunities are maximized.
  • Manage, support and guide staff including staff development/ training.
  • Ensure sales paperwork is completed accurately by the Sales team to maintain high quality and full compliance with funding rules.
  • To project manage new funding streams, maximising the business needs.
  • To ensure occupancy levels at of each programme for learners is maximised.
  • To assist with the winning of new contracts via bid writing 
  • To represent the company at Network meetings with Employers / ESFA / LEP / Partners / external organisations.
  • Maintain own professional competence including keeping up to date with Government, LEP and sector developments and priorities
