An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Employment Adviser to join our clients Employability Team in Preston on a full time permanent basis; a role which will place you at the heart of implementing their beliefs.

Whilst no working day will be the same due to assisting people from all walks of life the main purpose of your role will be to find long term sustainable employment for your clients. A typical day will include: communicating with client’s to ascertain their employment needs, conducting job search via newspapers, newspapers and researching employers, preparing CV’s, and coaching your clients to attend job interviews.

Job Purpose:
• Named single point of contact for coordinating and sequencing services on behalf of their individual participants.
• Working with participants to progress them on their journey towards employment and overcoming their work, skills health and personal circumstances barriers to ultimately support participants into sustainable work.
• Build strong and positive relationships with participants, enabling them to make well informed choices and appropriately diagnose their areas of support, leading to the joint development of an action plan of support intervention
• Utilisation of a multi-channel platform where, through a range of digital, video and telephony capability, participants are provided with the flexibility to decide how, when and the frequency with which they engage.
• Utilising Hub as a single point of digital access for all participants
• Responsible for making the right connections with local services, through a multi-agency approach, (supported by the Partnership & integration Manager and any relevant Keyworkers with Special Interest) to coordinate a focused package of support for each participant.
• Working from local hubs, and “pop-up offices” in their community or alongside integrated services (e.g. housing, health and primary care centres) in order to increase service accessibility.
• Working within and case conferencing with the Personal Support Team (PSTs) dedicated to each participant.
• Promote the additional choices available to participants via the local Social Prescription Network, demonstrating individualised engagement and motivational skills appropriate for each participant.
• Able to support participants with appropriate prioritisation of solutions for personal circumstances, skills, health as well as employability
• May be required to facilitate groups on an ad hoc basis.
• Will provide in work support, as required, for participants with high intensity support needs.
• To ensure that all required entry to the company database is accurate and compliant and documentation relating to the participant is completed and maintained in an accurate, compliant, timely and respectful manner.

• Ability to build rapport with, inspire, motivate and challenge participants
• Experience of working with people with multiple and complex needs, including health conditions and disabilities
• Ability to employ emotional intelligence in handling challenging situations
• Strong understanding of the employment services/welfare to work philosophy and the needs and challenges of the job market for long term unemployed.
• Knowledge of the labour market, wider provision and stakeholders local to the area in which you are applying
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to effectively network to build and maintain effective relationships internally and externally.
• High level digital literacy skills, and data accuracy skills, including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and web-based communication technologies
• Excellent organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage a busy schedule/workload under pressure
• A strong commitment to personal and professional ongoing development
• Ability to utilise technology successfully to drive forward participant solutions that engage participants in a meaningful and beneficial way
• Ability to follow and comply with contractual requirements
• Ability to adapt to a changing work environment
