Religious Education Teacher – Darlington

Principal Teachers currently has a requirement for a Religious Education Teacher to commence a full time post in a secondary school in the Darlington area. The Head Teacher of this successful school is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of RE to commence a long term position commencing after the February half term. You will be required to plan and deliver an inspiring RE curriculum to KS3 and KS4 students that will motivate students to achieve their full potential and instil a passion for learning. You will be required to plan and assess meticulously to cater to the needs of diverse classes and focus on pushing GCSE results forward.

Based in Darlington, the school is very accessible and serves a large catchment area. It is well regarded within the local community and staff are recognised for the commitment to offering extra curricular activities and trips. The Head Teacher wishes to appoint a Teacher of RE, who will fully embrace the school’s ethos and dedicate their efforts to improving attainment for all. Behaviour across the school is of a high standard so you will need to adhere to the school’s behaviour management policy and demand high expectations of behaviour to ensure standards are upheld.

The successful applicant will have:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
* Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
* Previous experience of teaching in an education setting in the UK
* Knowledge of the current Secondary National Curriculum for Religious Education
* Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
* The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
* Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
* A commitment to improving attainment for all students
* A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
