Principal Teachers have a requirement for an inspiring Teacher of English to begin a full time position in a Richmond secondary school. The school requires a dedicated, motivated and innovative teacher, who can engage students of varying abilities in their learning and allow them to realise their full potential in English. The successful applicant will need to be able to deliver an enriching English Language and English Literature curriculum to KS4 level. Experience of teaching KS5 English would be desirable. Working together with the rest of the department, you will need to plan and assess meticulously to drive results forward.

This successful secondary school is based in a rural area of Richmond. The school serves a large catchment area and is well reputed within the local community. The Head Teacher is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher, who will become part of an experienced and successful English Department. You will be required to deliver an engaging and enriching curriculum to students of varying abilities in Years 10 and 11, with the possibility of some A Level classes too, based on experience. The school has excellent facilities and resources and you will be encouraged to work collaboratively with your colleagues to share best practice. Behaviour across the school is good and you will need to uphold these standards and adopt the school’s ethos.

The successful applicant will have:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
* Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
* Previous experience of teaching in the UK
* Knowledge of the current Secondary National Curriculum requirements for English
* Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
* The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
* Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
* A commitment to improving attainment for all students
* A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
