PK education are working with an EBD School based in Barnsley which supports young people with emotional, social and behavioural issues. The School caters for pupils who are not able to attend main stream settings whether the reason is due to expulsion or the pupil needing more tailored support. The School has both primary and secondary provisions and aims to provide pupils with the tools they need to lead successful lives.

The School provides pupils with core subjects and aims to provide specialist subject in areas that the pupils are interested in. Furthermore, the School is dedicated to improving the social and emotional well-being of each pupil by offering alternative treatments, counselling and social trips where they pupils learn about behaviours, money management and social interaction.

I am looking to recruit Teaching Assistants who are able to work on long and short term assignments supporting pupils in a one to one capacity, in small groups and in whole classroom settings. The person in this role will have the flexibility to move to different key stages and will be able to attend staff meetings, contributing information into the support the pupil is given. For longer term candidates in house training may be provided however you will always have the support from the class teacher and senior leaders.

The ideal candidate will be resilient, confident and assertive, Team teach would also be advantageous. Due to the nature of the pupil we would ask for candidates to have strong behaviour management skills and be able to manage groups of young people effectively, those who have worked in similar settings will be highly favoured for this post however experience is not necessarily essential.
