Team Leader for the NCS Programme
Temporary role £1,907 for 13 days work – lump sum payment
Interviews will be on 14th August in Basildon
Loughton and Thurrock – Essex
MUST HAVE A DBS DATED 2017 TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE (you cannot go forward for the role without one)

The National Citizen ship Service is a government scheme for 16 and 17 year olds who attend residential courses and then do community projects in a team and then have a graduate ceremony and awards – residential away days consist of activities such as archery, rock climbing etc (this is just watching students, not participating in these yourself)

This is a temporary role and they have 3 phase dates for it to start – so must be available for one of the below dates from start to finish to complete this project (1 out of the 3 dates listed)

2nd to 22nd October - non-residential work will be on week days and based at Loughton
9th October to 5th November – non-residential work will be on week days at Loughton
20th October to 26th November – non-residential work based at Thurrock, first 3 days will be 24th to 27th October and remaining 4 days will be at weekends in November. This would particularly suit staff who work in Schools as the residential and first 6.5 days are during half term and remaining days are at weekend

Must be available for 2 days on Saturday 16th September and Saturday 23rd September for Training – 4 hours each day, this is part of the days worked for lump sum payment

All roles include a 4 day/3 night residential course with 15 young people and Leaders, all food and accommodation is paid for
To support and inspire the participants to commit and give 100% to the programme
To work with your Assistant Team Leader to ensure full support for your team
Making contact with your Wave Leader about team members prior to departure, in order to gather useful information about young people
Pastoral care
Safeguarding
Encourage team work, leadership and social development skills
Monitor learner progression
Manage any difficult or challenging behaviour
Arranging for local community members such as MP etc to meet the team and listen to a presentation about their proposed project
Liaise with parents and cares to deal with any team queries as the project progresses
