Training Support & Retention  Officer
Salary: £20,000 to £22,000 (Negotiable)
Permanent Full Time Role
Based: Nottingham with some travel across the East Midlands

OVERVIEW

Our client is a leading, “Good” rated training organisation who works across the East Midlands region. As an organisation they offer a wide range of Training courses including Apprenticeships and Traineeships. 

Due to ongoing expansion, they have an exciting new vacancy for a Training Support Officer to join their Nottingham based team. 

The objective of this role is improving the retention of learners, especially apprentices. This will be done by supporting both their personal and professional development, and help them to remove any barriers to learning and engagement. 

The Training Support Officer will collaborate with Delivery Staff, the Safeguarding Team, employers parents/carers and external agencies to identify at-risk learners and facilitate the necessary support.

MAIN DUTIES

  • Liaise with and support apprentices with either additional learning needs, at risk of early exit from programme, not meeting targets, experiencing lack of engagement with delivery staff or not meeting employers’ expectations /  having issues with placement.
  • Provide reports on referrals,interventions and impact made
  • Utilise a range of strategies including liaison and sign posting to relevant support agencies/partners to ensure learners remain in employment and on programme 
  • To ensure full compliance with the criteria laid out by funding bodies
  • Uutilise technology efficiently and effectively throughout the learner journey.
  • Make referrals to the Safeguarding Team when issues are above the boundaries of pastoral care.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Essential:

  • Pastoral care and/or coaching experience 
  • A minimum of grade 4 / C GCSE Mathematics and English or Level 2 Functional Skills 
  • Good ICT skills 
  • Own transport and a driving licence 

Desirable:

  • Coaching qualification 
  • Teaching or Assessing qualification
  •  Experience of working with people with additional learning needs 
  • An understanding of government funded programmes 
  • Experience of supporting individuals face to face and via technology such as MS Teams
