Teaching Assistant - Bracknell - £18,000 to £19,000 pro-rata - 16 hours / 28 days holiday rising to 33 with service, plus bank holidays - pro-rata.

The Role: Teaching Assistant

• We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a well-established college. Our client offers a variety of different entry qualifications to young learners for disadvantaged backgrounds in the Bracknell region. This is a highly rewarding role working part-time - 16 hours per week.
• You will be working as part of a passionate team to implement behaviour management strategies and develop relationships with students who may be vulnerable and have complex needs. You will be supporting the teacher in the delivery of engaging and successful lessons and liaising with other agencies to ensure that students' needs are fully met.
• You will be working with individuals and groups of students, assisting in ensuring students are kept on task and completing activities set by the teacher. You will deal with behavioural and special needs issues in conjunction with the teacher and deliver SEN interventions.
• You will be required to take responsibility for a whole class during the absence of a teacher and work with challenging students away from the classroom as a respite strategy. Supervise students at breaks and lunchtimes and work externally when needed eg on trips and educational visits.
• A DBS check prior to commencement of role is required.

Essential Requirements: Teaching Assistant

• A professional Teaching Assistant Qualification - NVQ Level 2 or at least a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths with experience of being a Teaching Assistant in an alternative provision environment
• Knowledge of the statutory requirements of health and safety, SEN & safeguarding of children
• Experience of teaching children with Education Health Care Plans, Special Educational Needs, language difficulties or other complex needs and the ability to develop and maintain good professional relationships

Desirables: Teaching Assistant

• PTLLS /HTLA qualification
• Have experience of being a Teaching Assistant in an alternative provision environment

The Employer: Teaching Assistant

• This client is a collection of colleges working over 10 sites providing academic and vocational training programmes for young people aged 16+ who, for whatever reason, are not suited to a mainstream college setting. They work with vulnerable young people helping them to obtain qualifications to further their career and obtain employment.
