Job Description

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a Primary School in Huyton for a full-time Year 3 Teaching Assistant to start immediately. This rewarding role will involve supporting a diverse cohort of learners, including those with special educational needs (SEN), in a caring and nurturing environment.

The Role

  • Provide general classroom support to Year 3 students, with a focus on supporting children with a variety of SEN, ensuring they are fully engaged and progressing in their learning.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated lessons and activities that are tailored to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Help support the social, emotional, and behavioural development of students, offering guidance to enhance self-confidence and resilience.
  • Contribute to tracking student progress, preparing resources, and supporting assessments as required.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO, fellow teaching assistants, and external professionals to ensure appropriate interventions and strategies are in place for children with SEN.

About You

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who:

  • Has experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a primary school setting.
  • Demonstrates patience, understanding, and a capacity to build positive relationships with children to support their individual learning needs.
  • Has a solid understanding of the Year 3 curriculum and can adapt their approach to support students at different learning levels.
  • Works well as part of a team and is willing to collaborate with teachers, other support staff, and parents to create an inclusive environment.
  • Is passionate about helping children achieve their potential and providing the support they need to succeed.
