Teaching Assistant (SEN) Temporary – linked to funding 25 hours

plus lunchtime cover 6.25hrs starting September 22






Grade 5, scale point 4 – 6 (£19264 - £20043 pro rata) TA

Grade 3, scale point 1-2 Lunchtime cover





Class Teacher/ Vice Principal/ Principal


To work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff and within an

agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work

programmes with 1 to 1 support or groups in or out of the classroom. This

could include those requiring detailed and specialist knowledge

in particular areas and will involve assisting the teacher in the

whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.

Staff may also supervise whole classes occasionally during the

short-term absence of teachers.


The Directors of Exceed Learning Partnership and Governors of Willow Primary School are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant in our friendly and supportive academy in Reception or Key Stage One.


What we are looking for:

  • Willingness and ability to obtain and/or enhance qualifications and training for development in the post
  • GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 2/3 for Teaching Assistants
  • Ability to work with children to meet their individual targets
  • Previous experience working in an educational environment with children
  • Use of ICT/other equipment to support learning
  • Have experience of the Early Years curriculum and/ or Key Stage 1 National Curriculum
  • Excellent literacy/numeracy skills
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedure
  • Understanding of principles of child of child development and learning processes
  • Knowledge of SEND
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults and work constructively as part of a team
  • Ability to self-evaluate own practice and learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities
  • A calm, flexible, pleasant and sympathetic manner
  • Personal interests and skills which can be used to enhance a specific delivery of either a curriculum area or an activity
  • Excellent Professional Qualities
