Hours: 22.5 Hours Per Week X 52 Weeks Per Year

About the Role
We have an excellent opportunity for a Technical Trainer to join our busy Plumbing team. We are seeking a motivated person who is enthusiastic about working with young people, adults and employers and has up-to-date industry knowledge and expertise within the Plumbing and Heating sector. Technical Trainers support students by ensuring that learning environments are safe and secure, and ensuring equipment is ready and available for the delivery of learning as required for a specific learning programme.
As a Technical Trainer you will assist in the design and delivery of learning (and preparation for learning) through undertaking various activities in a specific learning environment, such as workshops, using knowledge and skills acquired through practical experience and training in the subject area. Technical trainers assist with the promotion of a healthy and safe working environment in line with the College Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide regular instruction or support to students and others, within the Building Technologies department.
- To support and deliver practical training and demonstration to students e.g., in vocational areas.
- Assist in the design, operation and maintenance of student services.
- Demonstrate the use of systems and equipment to staff and students in the Department and carry out general house keeping duties.
Skills & Knowledge

- Qualifications in Plumbing/Heating or Construction Related Subject at level 3 or above.
- Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent) Qualification.
- Recent industry knowledge/experience within a construction-related trade or environment.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Practices surrounding Construction Related Areas.
