Job Description

Level 2 teaching assistant - Tameside - January start

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Tameside. The role will be full time and will start after the Christmas break and will continue on an ongoing basis for the rest of the current academic year. The role is ideal for someone with a passion for education and a desire to make a real difference in the lives of young students.

Key Responsibilities:

Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across a range of subjects
Work with small groups or 1:1 with students to assist with their learning and development
Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Assist with classroom management and behaviour support
Provide additional support for students with severe special educational needs (SEN)
Support students with their social and emotional development

Requirements:

Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
Experience working with young people of secondary school ages (11-16)
Experience working with young people in an educational setting
Experience working with young people with severe educational needs
A passion for education and supporting young learners
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work as part of a team and independently
Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach
Up to date safeguarding training issued in the last yar (essential, however, training can be provided)
Up to date FGM & prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, however, training can be provided)
