General Teaching Assistant - Year 3 with SEN Responsibilities - Kensington and Chelsea

About the Role
We are recruiting a proactive General Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 class in a mainstream primary school in Kensington and Chelsea. Alongside general classroom duties such as preparing resources, supporting guided groups and providing feedback, you will take on defined SEN responsibilities. You will deliver targeted speech and language support for one pupil through one to one and small group sessions, implement therapist-led programmes, embed visuals and Now and Next routines, and model language and sentence scaffolds. You will also support another pupil with autism by establishing predictable structures, using social stories, scheduling sensory breaks, and applying strategies including Zones of Regulation to build emotional regulation and positive behaviour. You will track progress against clear targets, contribute to reviews with the class teacher and the SENCo, and maintain strong communication with parents and external professionals.

What We're Looking For
Recent experience supporting pupils in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 3
Confidence delivering speech and language activities and supporting a pupil with autism
Skilled in de-escalation and in creating predictable, structured classroom routines
Familiarity with PECS, Makaton or TEACCH is desirable
Team Teach or other positive handling training is an advantage but not essential
