Job Description

Level 3 Teaching Assistant - Reception Class
Location: Denton, Tameside
Start Date: After Easter Break
Pay: 14.00 - 16.50 per hour (6.5 hours per day)
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term (with potential to become permanent)

Empowering Learning are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Denton who are looking to appoint a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support within a Reception class.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a nurturing Early Years setting where you will play a key role in supporting pupils at the very start of their educational journey.



The Role

  • Supporting teaching and learning within a Reception classroom (EYFS)

  • Delivering small group and 1:1 interventions

  • Assisting with phonics, early literacy and numeracy development

  • Supporting children with varying needs, including SEND

  • Helping to create a safe, engaging and stimulating learning environment

  • Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team



The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

  • Has recent experience working within EYFS / Reception

  • Strong understanding of phonics and early years development

  • Confident supporting children on a 1:1 and small group basis

  • Positive, nurturing and proactive approach

  • Good behaviour management and communication skills
