SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 1
Haringey, N15 (commutable from Tottenham, Seven Sisters, Wood Green, Edmonton, Stamford Hill)
105- 120 per day
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary

Long Term Futures is seeking a confident, patient and engaging SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil in a welcoming Haringey primary school.
This role would suit someone who enjoys building strong relationships with young people and acting as a positive role model throughout the school day. The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who can provide consistency, encouragement and structure, helping the pupil develop confidence, independence and positive engagement with learning.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Behaviour Mentor looking to make a genuine impact within a supportive KS1 environment.

About the Role
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo, you will:
Provide dedicated support to a Year 1 pupil throughout the school day
Build a strong, trusting relationship based on consistency and encouragement
Support the pupil's engagement during lessons, transitions and classroom activities
Promote positive behaviour through clear expectations and positive reinforcement
Help develop confidence, resilience and independence
Encourage positive social interactions with peers and staff
Work collaboratively with teaching staff to implement support strategies
The school is looking for someone with a calm and approachable manner who can become a trusted adult within the pupil's school experience.

Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience supporting children within a primary school setting
Strong relationship-building and communication skills
Calm, patient and resilient approach
Experience supporting SEN, behaviour or emotional needs is desirable
Able to act as a positive role model and mentor for young learners
Proactive, reliable and committed to a long-term role
