Long Term Futures is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive Year 4 class in a welcoming primary school in Hackney. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves working with children, enjoys variety in their day, and wants to play an active role in supporting both classroom learning and individual pupil development.
About the Role
You'll work closely with the class teacher to create a positive, engaging, and well-supported classroom environment. The role will involve a blend of whole-class assistance and targeted support for pupils with additional needs, including those with communication and learning differences.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Supporting the class teacher in delivering lessons and encouraging active participation.
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils who need extra guidance.
- Helping to maintain focus, motivation, and positive behaviour throughout the day.
- Supporting learning through visual, practical, and structured activities.
- Assisting with classroom organisation and preparation of resources.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting.
- Positive, patient, and able to build strong relationships with pupils.
- A genuine passion for education and helping children succeed.
- Confident supporting learning in both whole-class and smaller group contexts.
- Reliable, adaptable, and willing to learn from experienced colleagues.
