Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support a primary school in North Manchester. The role involves assisting with classroom activities, covering classes in teachers' absence, and leading interventions to support student learning and progress.

Position Details:

  • Position: Teaching Assistant (Primary)

  • Hours: 08:30 - 15:30

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Support: Assist with lessons, ensuring students stay engaged and focused.
  • Cover Classes: Manage the classroom in the absence of the teacher, maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Lead Interventions: Run small and large group interventions, particularly in literacy and numeracy.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and a safe learning environment.
  • Support Individual Needs: Provide additional help to students, including those with SEN.
  • Communication: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff regarding student progress.
  • Safeguarding: Ensure the well-being of all students by following safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience supporting children or young people (school, tutoring, youth work, care, coaching all welcome)
  • Experience: At least 12 weeks of experience working in a UK school setting.
  • Training: Up-to-date safeguarding training (desirable, but training will be provided).

Teaching Assistant experience is beneficial, but not essential. We welcome applications from graduates and career changers looking to start a rewarding role in education.
