SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 3)

  • Location: Aston, Birmingham

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Salary: 90- 105 per day (dependent on experience)

  • Contract: Temporary, ongoing

  • Hours: Full Time - 8:30am to 3:30pm (Monday to Friday)

Are you a calm, compassionate, and dedicated individual looking to make a real difference in a child's educational journey? Empowering Learning is seeking a Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism, ADHD, PDA, and Dyslexia.

This role is based in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Aston, Birmingham, where staff work collaboratively to ensure every child reaches their full potential. You will play a key role in supporting the pupil's academic progress, emotional regulation, and social development.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN, addressing both learning and emotional needs

  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals to deliver EHCP targets

  • Adapt lesson materials and activities to ensure accessibility and engagement

  • Build a strong, trusting relationship and act as a consistent, positive role model

  • Encourage confidence, independence, and participation in all aspects of school life



The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or care setting

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

  • Level 1 Safeguarding qualification

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team

  • A patient, nurturing, and flexible approach

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
