Teaching Assistant - Primary School

Location: Bristol (South)
Start Date: Immediate / ASAP
Pay: 110 per day
Contract Type: Temporary with potential for long-term opportunities
Hours: School hours (ad hoc and full-time availability welcomed)



About the Role

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support pupils across a welcoming primary school in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development within a classroom setting.

The successful candidate will work alongside class teachers to support pupils both academically and socially, helping to create an engaging, inclusive, and positive learning environment.



Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with their learning, both one-to-one and in small groups
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities
  • Providing additional support to pupils who may need extra guidance
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting social development
  • Helping to create a safe, structured, and stimulating learning environment
  • Supporting pupils during transitions, playtimes, and school routines
  • Communicating effectively with staff, pupils, and other professionals
  • Ensuring safeguarding and child protection procedures are always followed


Requirements

  • Experience working with children (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
  • A supportive, patient, and enthusiastic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (child workforce), or willingness to apply
  • Right to work in the UK
