Role Overview

Our client, a Schools Group, with 13 OFSTED-regulated schools, are looking for a Teaching Assistant to provide positive encouragement and feedback to ensure pupils reach their full potential. Our clients Albion site is additional premises for the main school (Hamilton Square) which is situated next door. The successful candidate will provide a nurturing environment to approximately 8-10 pupils with an EHCP who cannot sustain mainstream education for any reason, offering ample opportunities for those who need support. Successful candidates must demonstrate an understanding of development stages and individual needs. They should provide positive encouragement and feedback to ensure pupils reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support all students throughout the school in a 1:1, whole class support, or outside the class capacity.
  • Give pupils the chance to reintegrate into mainstream schools or progress into a sustained Post-16 pathway.
  • Contribute to a positive ethos for learning.
  • Overtly promote the values and achievements of the school to the community.
  • Be aware of and follow company Equality, Safeguarding, and Health and Safety Policies.
  • Have and create high expectations of staff and students.
  • Assist the teacher with writing and monitoring pupil learning plans.
  • Review and implement interventions enabling pupils to understand and meet their targets.
  • Support the delivery of learning activities in the absence of the teacher.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other practitioners.
  • Adapt to pupil and school requirements on a day-to-day basis.
  • Work with all staff to address pupils barriers to learning.

Essential/Desirable Criteria:

  • GCSEs in Maths and English (C or 4 grade and above or equivalent).
  • Experience of working within an education setting or equivalent.
  • Experience working with vulnerable pupils.
  • Teaching/Teaching Assistant qualification is highly desirable
