Senior Website Developer

Salary: £40,000 per annum (FTE)

Location: Fareham, Hampshire

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week (FTE)

The vacancy

The Senior Website Developer will work on the creation, development and maintenance of new and existing websites for the college and for the South Coast Institute of Technology (IoT). They must be able to demonstrate good communication skills, be creative and have the ability to problem solve. 

They will be working effectively with key partners and stakeholders to ensure the websites reflect our ambitious focus on developing skills within the Solent region. 

A successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of digital analytics that monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the website functionality, responsiveness and optimised for search engines.  

We require the successful candidate to have excellent knowledge and experience in the following: 

  • At least one programming language at expert level, preferably Javascript, Ruby or PHP 
  • Expert knowledge of HTML/CSS 
  • Experience with mock-up and UI prototyping tools 
  • Understanding of security practices 
  • Familiarity with network diagnostics tools 
  • Adobe Suite – Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator 
  • Workflow and project management skills
