SEND Teaching Assistant - Temp to perm

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team, providing essential support to two Year 5 students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to create a positive and inclusive learning experience for these students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to the designated students during morning and afternoon sessions.
  • Implement and support the delivery of tailored educational plans for each student.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist in the development of social and communication skills.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to assess progress and adjust support strategies accordingly.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
  • Understanding of the challenges and needs associated with ASD.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs or Teaching Assistance is desirable.
