Teaching Assistant - 1:1 SEND Support (Lower KS1) - Tameside
Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Tameside. This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support for a pupil in Lower Key Stage 1 with additional SEND requirements.
The successful candidate will have previous experience working within a Primary School setting and be confident supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and non-verbal communication needs. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to make a real difference to a child's educational and personal development.
The Role:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil in Lower KS1
- Supporting a child with autism and non-verbal communication needs
- Assisting with the pupil's learning, engagement and social development
- Implementing strategies to support communication and emotional regulation
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and wider school staff
- Providing personal care when required
- Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has previous experience working within a Primary School setting
- Has experience supporting children with SEND, particularly autism
- Is confident working with non-verbal pupils and using communication strategies
- Is patient, caring and resilient
- Has excellent communication and behaviour management skills
- Is comfortable providing personal care
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
