Teaching Assistant needed to work in a SEND unit - primary school.

Contract Type: Full-time, 8:30-4:00

About the Role:
We are working in partnership with a well-respected primary school in (Clayton, Manchester), committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all pupils. The school is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team and support students with diverse educational needs. This role involves working closely with teachers and specialists to ensure each child reaches their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 support to pupils with SEND, tailoring your approach to meet their individual needs
  • Assisting the class teacher with the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs)
  • Supporting the social and emotional development of pupils
  • Encouraging positive interaction and engagement in classroom activities
  • Collaborating with parents, teachers, and specialists to create a supportive learning environment

Key Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with SEND pupils in a school or specialist setting (SEND school experience is highly desirable)
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to working with children
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A genuine passion for helping children with special educational needs thrive
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is desirable but not essential
