Aspire People are recruiting for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a varied SEN classroom within a mainstream primary school in Rochdale OL11. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children with mild to complex needs in a supportive, inclusive setting.
About the Role:
Position: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Rochdale OL11, mainstream primary school
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract: Full-time, until July
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Key Responsibilities:
Work with children across a range of needs, including global delay, autism, and non-verbal communication.
Support a class of 6-8 children, under the guidance of a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), alongside a team of 4 TAs.
Assist with activities designed to develop children's communication and learning skills.
Provide a calm and nurturing environment, encouraging children to engage and develop at their own pace.
Promote the social and emotional development of children with varied needs, ensuring inclusion and participation.
About You:
Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly in a classroom setting.
Knowledge and understanding of children with global delay, autism, and those who are non-verbal.
A patient, compassionate, and flexible approach to working with children with diverse needs.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, supporting the HLTA and other TAs to meet the needs of each child.
