About the Learners:
Many of the young people we work with have additional needs, including:
- SEN (Special Educational Needs)
- SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health)
- Trauma-related challenges
- Or may be at risk of permanent exclusion (PEX)
About you:
We're seeking strong Tutors with at least 1 year of experience in UK schools in roles such as:
- Tutor
- Teacher
- Cover Supervisor
- Teaching Assistant
- ELSA
- 1:1 Support Worker
- Or similar educational roles
As a Tutor, you will:
- Deliver 1:1 tuition sessions tailored to individual learner needs
- Plan and prepare engaging, differentiated lessons
- Support learners with additional needs including SEN, SEMH, trauma, or those at risk of PEX
- Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and progress
- Monitor and report on student progress and attendance
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Experience working with learners with additional needs is essential.

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
- Experience of working with learners with SEN
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
- Hold right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide references upon request
- Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
