About the role:
You will be instrumental in providing tailored support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they can fully engage with the curriculum. You will be responsible for implementing individualised learning plans and adapting teaching materials to meet each student s unique requirements. Additionally, you will be a vital presence in promoting social and emotional development, helping students build confidence and resilience in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons to pupils with special educational needs (SEN).
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to SEN pupils, ensuring individualized learning plans are followed and accessible.
- Help prepare specialized learning materials and adapt classroom resources to meet diverse needs.
- Support children's social, emotional, and behavioural development, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Assist with behaviour management and maintain a safe, structured atmosphere in the classroom.
- Supervise SEN pupils during breaks and extracurricular activities, providing additional guidance as needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, is desirable but not essential.
- A flexible and patient approach to working with a range of SEN students.
- Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to support individualized learning goals.
- A genuine passion for helping SEN children achieve their full potential.
