Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm

Long Term Futures are working in partnership with a warm and welcoming primary school in CV1, Coventry who are seeking a caring and reliable Reception SEN Teaching Assistant. This long-term role involves supporting children with Autism and Speech, Language & Communication Needs within a busy, play-based Reception classroom. You'll work closely with the class teacher and an experienced TA to deliver calm, structured and engaging support throughout the school day.
The Role
You will support a small group of Reception-aged children with a range of SEN, providing targeted support during continuous provision, carpet sessions and play-based learning activities. In addition to your classroom responsibilities, part of your role will involve working within The Cabin, the school's dedicated SEN provision.
The Cabin offers a quiet, structured environment with sensory equipment, an interactive screen and activities such as Bucket Time, sensory play and communication-focused interventions. You'll work closely with staff and parents to develop communication, emotional regulation, independence and early learning skills. This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience supporting children within a school, nursery or Early Years setting
Confident supporting children with ASD, SLCN, delayed communication or sensory needs
Able to deliver 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with identified SEN
Understanding of sensory regulation strategies and therapeutic approaches
Knowledge of the EYFS framework and Reception curriculum
Holds TA qualifications or a relevant degree
Calm, patient and able to work effectively as part of a supportive team
