Dunbar Education is excited to be recruiting on behalf of a supportive primary school in Marston, Oxford. We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistants (SEN TA) to work with children in KS1 and KS2 who have additional needs. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and group support to pupils with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring their learning, emotional, and social needs are met
- Assist in the development and delivery of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to plan and implement differentiated learning activities
- Encourage and support positive behaviour, fostering an inclusive and safe learning environment
- Help pupils develop self-confidence, independence, and social skills
- Monitor and record pupils' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers
- Adapt resources and teaching materials to meet the specific needs of individual pupils
- Promote inclusion and equal opportunities for all students
Key Requirements:
- Experience of working with children with additional needs, ideally in a school setting
- Strong understanding of special educational needs and inclusive education practices
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Professionalism, patience, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Highly motivated and able to take initiative, with a clear understanding of your role in supporting children's development
