Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Location: Oldham
  • Salary: £17000- £22000 per annum
  • Start Date: September 2024
  • Contract Type: Full Time

GSL Education are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant for a Primary school in Oldham. This school currently has an Ofsted report rated Good . As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting teachers and students in KS1/KS2. You will work closely with our teachers and SENCo to support children with special educational needs across the school. This role involves assisting students in their learning, providing targeted interventions, and ensuring that each child has access to the curriculum.

This role offers the chance to work alongside experienced educators, gain valuable classroom experience, and make a real difference in the lives of our students


To be successful you must be able to:

  • Communicate clearly with Teachers and young individuals
  • Create an encouraging learning environment for pupils
  • Be understanding and caring
  • Carry out tasks involving a computer or hand-device
  • Remain calm during stressful situations
  • Work on different activities conducted inside and outside school premises
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs in a school setting is desirable

To work with GSL Education as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
