We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and committed SEN Primary Teaching Assistant to support pupils within primary school settings. This role is ideal for someone with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. Support may be provided on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, both in and out of the classroom.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing tailored one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN

  • Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and engage in learning activities

  • Assisting with behaviour management using positive reinforcement strategies

  • Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction

  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow individual education plans (IEPs)

  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and self-esteem

  • Supporting learning in core subjects such as literacy and numeracy

  • Assisting with classroom preparation and adapting resources where required

  • Providing pastoral care and emotional support throughout the school day

  • Supervising pupils during break times, lunchtimes, and school activities

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting

  • Is patient, resilient, and empathetic

  • Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff

  • Is confident supporting behaviour and emotional needs

  • Works well as part of a team and follows school policies

This is a rewarding opportunity to gain valuable experience within supportive primary schools while making a meaningful difference to children who require additional support.
