A Primary school in Birmingham is looking for an experienced SEN 1-1 Teaching Assistant to work with a student across both EYFS and Year 1. The time will be split between working with one student in the morning within EYFS and two students across the course of the afternoon in a Year 1 class. The role will specifically be working with a child on the autistic spectrum who is non-verbal, so will have to be able to adapt their practises and show patience.
The role will also include supporting the class teacher with day to day tasks. The successful candidate will also be expected to;
- Support the students 1-1 and also in small groups
- Carrying out tasks such as photocopying, handing out the equipment for the students
- First aid
- Classroom support
- Behaviour management
