GSL Education are looking for a SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant, secondary client schools located in Ashington for the upcoming term of September 2024 / ASAP.
We are currently seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant (Secondary) to join our team in Ashington. This role offers a rewarding chance to work closely with students who need extra support in managing their emotions and behaviours, helping them to thrive in a positive and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities as a SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant ( Secondary):
- Support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs in a secondary school setting.
- Work closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver tailored support.
- Assist with managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students.
- Encourage and support students social and emotional development.
- Help to implement personalised learning plans and strategies.
As a SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant ( Secondary) essential requirements include the following:
- Previous experience as an SEMH Teaching Assistant Secondary or in a similar role is preferred.
- A caring and patient approach with the ability to build strong relationships with students.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the students.
- Relevant qualifications or training related to SEMH support is desirable.
- Possess an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to have one processed immediately.
