Long Term Futures is seeking a calm, positive and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with social, emotional and behavioural needs in a supportive Harrow primary school.
This role is ideal for someone who can build strong relationships, remain composed under pressure and provide consistent, structured support to help the pupil regulate emotions and engage in learning.
About the Role
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo, your responsibilities will include:
Providing consistent 1:1 SEMH support throughout the school day
Supporting emotional regulation using calm, patient and trauma-informed approaches
Helping the pupil manage behaviour, transitions and classroom expectations
Acting as a positive role model and trusted adult
Encouraging engagement with learning across the KS2 curriculum
Supporting social skills, confidence and resilience
Implementing behaviour strategies and feeding back to staff

Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs
Calm, patient and resilient approach
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
