Role Overview:
Dunbar Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated Geography Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Berkshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality Geography lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5), fostering a stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity about the world and promotes academic achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Geography lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach A-Level Geography if required.
- Monitor and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, creating a positive and safe learning environment.
- Support students in preparing for exams, including GCSEs and A-Levels.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop resources, schemes of work, and assessments.
- Participate in staff meetings, parent evenings, and professional development activities.
- Encourage a passion for Geography and global awareness among students.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualifications : Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience : A minimum of 6 months of teaching experience in the UK.
- Subject Knowledge : Strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum and ability to teach it across different year groups.
- Skills : Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
- DBS Check : A valid, enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to Work : Valid right to work in the UK.
