Science Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Slough

Pay: 95- 105 per day (depending on experience)
A well-regarded secondary school in Slough is looking to appoint a Science Teaching Assistant to join their successful Science department. This full-time position is ideal for graduates with a science-related degree who are keen to gain meaningful classroom and laboratory experience ahead of teacher training or a future career in education.
The school places a strong emphasis on STEM learning, practical investigation and developing curiosity in science. The department is well-resourced and collaborative, with staff working closely together to ensure students make strong progress across Biology, Chemistry and Physics. As a Science Teaching Assistant, you will support both classroom learning and practical work in a structured and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students during Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
Assist with practical experiments and ensure safe lab practice
Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce key concepts
Help prepare equipment, resources and learning materials
Support students in developing confidence in scientific thinking and exam skills
The Ideal Candidate:
A degree in Science or a closely related subject is essential
Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry or Physics
Interest in teaching, education or science communication
Comfortable supporting both classroom learning and practical sessions
Professional, reliable and committed to full-time work
