Job Description

We are thrilled to announce our search for a Residential Childcare Trainer. This is a full time and hybrid position with travel across the South East region.
Our client are looking for experts in the work-based learning sector who are passionate to pass their wisdom and knowledge onto those who aspire to work in the Residential Childcare industry.
In this role you would manage a caseload of learners in an apprenticeship from level 2 to 5, setting up regular meeting to assess their work, provide 1-1 or group sessions to develop knowledge in specific topics in the residential childcare setting as well as ensuring off the job training and assignment submissions are complete and meeting them in the work place to conduct observations.
Our client are made up of Healthcare professionals and have been awarded with a Ofsted grade 2 report which showcases the quality they are providing for their learners.
  • Manage a group of learners, guiding them toward successful apprenticeship completion through monthly teaching sessions using a blended delivery approach (currently conducted remotely)
  • Demonstrate high success rates in both functional skills and apprenticeship achievement
  • Track and oversee learner progress throughout their apprenticeship journey
  • Assist learners in achieving FS level 2 in English and mathematics if they don't already possess these qualifications at the outset
  • Maintain strong relationships within the team, as well as with clients, including managers and learners
  • Assist learners in compiling evidence that contributes to their apprenticeship knowledge, skills, and behaviors for End-Point Assessment
  • Identify and provide support to learners with additional learning needs
  • Participate in team meetings and engage in continuous professional development (CPD) sessions

Experience and Skills
  • An Assessor qualification e.g. CAVA, TAQA or equivalent (desired)
  • Teaching qualification such as AET, PTLLS, CTLLS or equivalent
  • Minimum Level 2 qualification in Residential Childcare or higher qualification in Leadership and Management, or possess a managerial experience in a residential home
  • A level 2 Functional skills or GCSE in Maths and English at level C
  • Approachable, flexible and has great communication skills
  • Occupational competence as a residential childcare worker or similar role/environment
