Residential Childcare Trainer and Skills Coach

Location: Hybrid Working with regional travel

Pertemps Work Based Learning are currently working with a recognised national training provider

We are looking for a Residential Childcare Trainer and Skills Coach to work on a remote basis, with some travel required for learner observation. The Skills Coach will be delivering Levels 3, 4 & 5 to individuals achieving their apprenticeship qualifications.

• Salary of up to £30,000

Key Duties and Responsibilities of the Residential Childcare Trainer and Skills Coach

• Deliver engaging learning programmes in order to support learners towards their Apprenticeship Qualification in Residential Childcare.
• Use and develop a wide range of resources and techniques, tailored to learners’ individual needs.
• Observe and review work produced by learners to ensure it is of the appropriate standard to reflect the learner's qualification and meet the needs of the qualification.
• Provide insightful, constructive, and informative feedback to help the learner maximise their potential.
• Proactively monitor, evaluate, and improve the quality and effectiveness of own workload and working practices to ensure deadlines and targets are met and that the learner has an outstanding experience.
• Organise and maintain documentation on learners' progress
• Visit and observe learners in their place of work to support and gather evidence

Skills, Experience and Qualifications for the Residential Childcare Trainer and Skills Coach

• Level 3 in Residential Childcare, or equivalent would be desirable, alongside a recognised Assessor Qualification such as TAQA or CAVA
• Vocational experience, ideally at Supervisory level, within a Residential Childcare setting.
• Teaching Qualification is desirable, but not required (PTLLS, AET, PGCE or equivalent).
• Experience in delivering training and coaching sessions to learners
• Full UK Driving Licence, with access to own vehicle and a flexibility to travel.
