TEACHING ASSISTANTS
Job Description:
SMART Education are looking for an experienced Level 3 teaching assistant to work with a primary school in Sandwell.
The school need support providing 1:1 and full classroom assistance to pupils under the guidance of the class teacher. The school will potentially ask for extra support to be provided through intervention groups for reading, phonics and maths skills over time.
The teaching assistant will need previous experience working within a Primary school setting and feel confident to provide short sessions for small groups of pupils planned by the teacher.
These positions commence November 2023, on a full time basis.
Job Role:
The Teaching Assistant will:
- Follow planning provided by the class teacher
- Support pupils within the classroom
- Support pupils in small groups for intervention work
- Teach Phonics to a small group based on teachers planning
- Support the pupils reading, writing, phonics and basic maths skills
- Communicate with teacher throughout the day
Duties:
The Teaching Assistant will:
- Plan, prepare and deliver lessons in order to prepare students in English and Maths specifically
- Ability to apply and teach various maths disciplines
- Review, mark and prepare students work
- Have experience within tutoring / experience within primary / primary education / teaching
- Have a strong Knowledge of the curriculum
- Be able to motivate the candidate(s)
- Have a positive attitude and an enthusiastic approach
- Ability to possibly work with parents in order for them to participate within their childrens learning and achievement within this particular area of the curriculum
- Have a up to date DBS (we can process one for you)

Qualifications Required:
- Level 3 teaching assistant/ childcare learning and development
- At least 6+ Month s experience within the Primary School setting environment.
- DBS on the update service (we can process one for you)
- Safeguarding trained (we offer free CPD)
- Prevent trained (we offer free CPD)
- Classroom TA / LSA / 1:1 experience
- SEN experience/ knowledge/ additional CPD
Salary: £82.32+ a day
Hours: Full-time Monday to Friday 8.30-3.30
Location: Tipton, Sandwell, West Midlands
