Daily Supply Primary Teaching Assistant

Location: Merton, SW19
Job Type: Temporary/Contract
Salary: £85-£95 day

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join a wonderful team of daily supply staff for a range of primary schools in the Merton (SW19) area.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in various educational settings and make a positive impact on students' learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist classroom teachers in delivering high-quality education and support to primary school students.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance.
  • Help prepare and organize classroom materials and resources.
  • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of students during school hours.
  • Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Assist with classroom management and maintaining a tidy and organised learning environment.
  • Carry out administrative tasks as required by the classroom teacher or school management.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with primary school children is preferred.
  • A genuine passion for education and helping students achieve their full potential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and teaching styles.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to supporting children's learning and development.
  • Basic understanding of child safeguarding and welfare.
  • Flexibility and reliability to work on short notice.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or childcare are an advantage.
