This is a full-time on-site role located in the City of Bristol , for a Plumbing, Gas, and Renewables Tutor & Assessor

Work Skills

This role is open to professionals with assessment experience and those wishing to start working in education to help develop and nurture the next generation of plumbing and gas professionals.

The role involves:

To train and assess a caseload of Apprenticeship learners to a high standard, ensuring good quality delivery.

  • Providing training and assessment to apprentices
  • Site assessments; assessing apprentices in their workplace
  • Deliver Apprentice Assessment (previously EPA) training to apprentices
  • Be fully engaged with the Centre's Mission and Values, ensuring they are at the heart of your working practice.
  • Be a role model to others; this requires a commitment to and demonstration of the positive behaviours the Centre considers essential to supporting our Mission and Values.
  • IT & Admin: monitor student progress; update the central tracking system; and conduct reviews with the student & employer every 10 to 12 weeks.
  • IT & Admin: monitor students’ Off the Job journals on Moodles
  • IT & Admin: Set targets and monitor students’ progress on their Personal Development courses.

Qualifications and Experience

ESSENTIAL

  • Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Plumbing & Heating
  • Be flexible and responsive to working arrangements
  • To participate in mandatory training (Safeguarding etc)

DESIRABLE – If not held already, you will be enrolled to complete any qualifications required.

  • An assessor award (CAVA etc)
  • PTLLS or Teaching Qualification
  • Hold ACS in CCN1, CENWAT, MET1,CKR1, HTR1 & CONGLP1PD
  • Unvented
  • Water regulations
  • Experience of training apprentices

  • Professional, conscientious, committed and flexible.
  • To have a duty of care for your learners (some may be 16-18 years old)
  • To be cooperative and work well with others
