OVERVIEW
V Selective are recruiting a Plumbing and Heating Qualifications Manager for one of the UK’s leading Awarding Organisations (AO).
The Qualifications Manager will develop and maintain a range of qualifications, specifically in the Plumbing and Heating sector. Along with Qualifications Development, the role also involves Examination and Assessment writing, and External Verification / EQA duties.
Hybrid working – The role is office-based (West London) on a Monday and Tuesday, and Wednesday to Friday is Home Based.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Qualified to L3 or equivalent in plumbing with relevant industry or sector experience
- Possessing a wide range of building services sector experience in the training, development, assessment and quality assurance of technical employees.
- Knowledge and experience in Heat Pump installation & maintenance and refrigeration would be advantageous.
- Holding an External Verfication / EQA award would be advantageous.
- Having a detailed understanding of the accreditation, certification, examination and assessment processes relating to courses and qualifications.
- Computer literacy skills including the use of Microsoft software
- Have the competence and experience to design, develop and implement examination and assessment strategies to meet the requirements of specific courses and qualifications.
- Be organised with a flexible attitude that includes productive time and project management skills.
- Have the ability to work on own initiative and to demonstrate a high level of team participation skills.
THE ROLE
- Carry out the work activity of Qualifications Developer
- Carry out the work activity of Examination and Assessment writer
- Carry out the work activity of External Verifier
- Proactively monitor and react to the publication of legislative, normative and informative industry standards impacting on qualifications, examinations and assessments
- Support Senior Managers on technical issues affecting the design and development content of courses and qualifications.
- Continually review course and qualification examination and assessment documentation to ensure validity, technical accuracy, currency and improvement measures are identified and implemented.
- To represent the AO at industry and sector technical committees and meetings as required
- Appoint, manage and support the qualification writers, credit rating and qualification levellers and assessment and examination developers.
- Liaise with Technical Specialists with on technical issues relating to the design and content development of courses and qualifications,
- To ensure the principles of diversity and accessibility are implemented and embedded in all technical development activities.
