Motor Vehicle Tutor

Newcastle-under-Lyme

 

To teach apprentices the fundamentals of Motor vehicle maintenance and repair as part of their Autocare Level 2, MET Level 3 and Light Vehicle Level 3 Apprenticeship standards

 

Salary & Benefits

  • 8.30am to 5pm Monday – Thursday, 8.30am in the centre and then 8.30 am to 12.30pm Friday from home

 

  • 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays + Annual Christmas centre shutdown + 2 wellbeing days

 

  • Circa £27,000

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • To plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate a course(s) of learning for learners
  • To provide detailed syllabus/course outline information and an initial scheme of work for each course before commencement and update/maintain them as part of the course documentation files.
  • To prepare appropriate plans and learning materials for each session, to make them available in advance for monitoring or lesson observation visits and to maintain them as part of the course documentation files.
  • To give subject specialist information, advice and support to learners as part of teaching duties, including providing learners with advice on progression.
  • Deliver Information, Advice and Guidance to learners
  • To monitor, mark and assess learners’ work
  • To complete review documentation and complete reviews in the workplace

 

Person Specification

  • Ideally have previous experience teaching apprentices up to level 3 and be confident to do so.
  • Ideally qualified to Light Vehicle level 3 qualification.
  • Relevant trade experience within the automotive repair environment.
  • Effective oral and written communication, numeracy and interpersonal qualifications & skills to communicate effectively with staff and learners alike (to at least Level 2 and/or willingness to acquire appropriate equivalent qualification).
