Job Description

Primary School Teaching Assistant
Lambeth (SW12)

This vibrant, inclusive school in the heart of Lambeth is dedicated to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Primary School Teaching Assistant to support teachers and students.

The ideal candidate will assist in delivering high-quality educational experiences, creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and fostering the academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Support individual students or small groups to enhance their learning experience.
  • Help create and maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Supervise students during classroom activities, playground time, and field trips.
  • Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
  • Provide support for students with special educational needs and help implement individualized education plans (IEPs). -
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the classroom teacher.
  • Encourage positive behavior and promote the school s values and ethos.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher in education or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Basic understanding of child development and educational practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.
