END POINT ASSESSOR (EPA) - GAS NETWORK CRAFTSPERSON

V Selective are recruiting on behalf of an Ofqual recognised Apprenticeship End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO).
As an organisation they are committed to quality, and deliver a rigorous apprenticeship end point assessment service.
Their service helps to ensure that apprentices, working within a range of industries, are able to do the job they are trained for.
Key industries they support include Gas, Power, Water, and Nuclear.
They currently require End Point Assessors for the Gas Network Craftsperson apprenticeship standard, to join their bank of Freelance Independent End Point Assessors.
The role of a Gas Network Craftsperson relates to ‘Building, maintaining and repairing parts for the country’s gas network, to provide a reliable supply of gas to domestic, commercial and industrial users’.We are seeking EPAs for the Level 3 Gas Network Craftsperson Apprenticeship, who can assess any of the following pathways:
- Network maintenance Craftsperson (Electrical & Instrumentation)
- Network Maintenance Craftsperson (Pressure Management)
- Network Pipelines Maintenance Craftsperson
- Emergency Response Craftsperson
Apprentices on the Electrical and Instrumentation pathway will be ‘Responsible for maintaining the controls and systems that measure, monitor, analyse and control the performance of the gas network. This forms part of a control system architecture that uses computers, networked data communications and graphical user interfaces for high-level process supervisory management associated with the gas transportation network’
Apprentices on the Pressure Management pathway will be 'Responsible for maintaining the controls and systems that measure, monitor and analyse pressures and flows within the gas network to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the gas transportation network.'
Apprentices on the Network Pipelines Maintenance Craftsperson pathway will be 'Responsible for the maintenance and protection of the gas transportation pipelines and associated connecting plant and equipment to ensure the safe operation of pipelines and prevent damage from third parties.'
Apprentices on the Emergency Response Craftsperson pathway will be 'Responsible for attending reported gas emergencies to safeguard persons and property. This includes dealing with reported gas escapes both inside and outside of customers’ properties and responding to reports of carbon monoxide leakage.'
The role can be offered on self employed / freelance basis, or via a zero hours contract to suit. The hours available vary dependent on demand, and registered EPAs always have a choice to accept assignments based on their availability. This role may be undertaken complementary to an existing substantive position with the permission of your current employer or within a wider portfolio of activities.
Applicants must be technically qualified and hold substantial experience undertaking relevant roles within the Gas Network industry.
Ideally, you will also hold a recognised assessor qualification.
Upon taking assignments from the Service Delivery team, you will deliver end-point assessment for the relevant apprenticeship standard and assessment method you are approved for.
You will undertake (remotely or directly) end point assessment activities (which may include practical observations and technical interviews), awarding a preliminary grade and ensuring that all assessment decisions are fair, objective, free of bias and based on all relevant evidence presented.
You will accurately record the outcomes of all end point assessment activity using assessment material submitting these records within required timescales.
