Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

School: SEND Post 16

Location: Enfield

Pay: £116 - £125 Per Day PAYE

Are you passionate about supporting young people with complex needs to achieve independence and prepare for adult life?

We are working with a school based in Enfield that carter for students 16 - 25 years with SEND, which includes ASC, ADHD, learning difficulties and speech and language and communication needs. The school are looking for experienced and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistants that are passionate about SEND, will believe in their values and confident supporting young people within these ages.

About the Role;

  • Supporting the students and following the class timetable
  • Class timetable involves English, Maths, ICT, PE, creative lessons, life skills and work experience
  • One day a week you will be attending the class work experience day which helps student gain real-world experience and develop employability skills
  • Covering and delivering lessons when the teacher is absent

Your Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored support to students in small groups or one-to-one, adapting learning materials to meet individual needs.
  • Covering and delivering lessons when the teacher is absent
  • Provide guidance and encouragement to help students build confidence and develop independence.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and external agencies to support students educational, social, and emotional needs.
  • Prepare students for adulthood, focusing on skills for independent living, further education, and employment.

Recruitments for the role:

  • Experience as HLTA or strong experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant looking for the next step
  • Experience working with young people with SEND
  • A strong understanding of Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and speech and language needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of young people.
