Educated Appointments are delighted to be supporting a forward thinking and growing Training provider based in Suffolk to hire a new Head of Programmes who will form part of the companies senior leadership team.

The role

  • Overall responsibility for the effectiveness of our whole provision - accredited programmes, Apprenticeships and non-Apprenticeships

  • Setting agreed parameters for all programmes, including Functional Skills, key milestones and compliance within appropriate rules. Supporting Programme Manager with the safe implementation of these

  • Supporting the set-up of new/amended Standards, including appropriate qualifications and work with Commissioners to agree programme content and format. Support Programme Manager to set the programmes up

  • Using monthly reports from the Programme Manager to analyse data, identify trends and make decisions based on these to ensure the effective running of all programmes

  • Provision of relevant reporting to the Directors on the effectiveness of programmes

  • Continuously monitoring, reviewing and improving our processes

  • Responsible for the preparation for external audits including ESFA and Ofsted, and acting as the Lead and Nominee for the visits

  • Ensuring policies and processes are in place to meet the needs of our relevant regulators – e.g. Ofsted, ESFA, CMI and ILM etc.

  • Line management of the Programme Manager and Administration Team Lead

  • Identification and implementation of a system to track time and therefore profitability of each of the programmes

  • Accountability for the effectiveness of all End Point Assessments and qualifications including Functional Skills with all Awarding Bodies

  • Ensuring compliant contracting with Commissioners, EPAOs, Awarding Bodies and key partners including regular contract reviews and adjustments required. Supporting the BDM with initial Commissioner contracting where necessary

  • Ensuring any client/delegate complaints are resolved effectively

  • Liaising with key partners and associates to ensure programmes are run effectively

  • Accountable for staff development, the maintenance of their continuous professional development and ensure that mandatory training is kept up to date

  • Developing strong partnerships with other organisations to develop apprenticeship offering

  • Accountable for the timely and accurate submission of the monthly ILR

  • Working closely with the Quality Manager to ensure recommendations are incorporated into programmes as required

  • Accountable for ensuring that the business is compliant with all Safeguarding requirements

  • Overall responsibility for the efficiency and effectiveness of all our platforms and systems relating to the delivery of all programmes and funding claims

Key Skills and Behaviours

  • Experience of working in a senior role

  • Clear performance focus and ability to meet targets

  • Comfortable with holding people to account in a challenging and supportive manner

  • Ability to balance priorities to achieve business objectives

  • Strong knowledge of funded learning in Apprenticeships, and the various policies and processes required

  • Enquiring approach to understand Lighthouse and build on the foundations which have been established

  • Able to communicate effectively with key stakeholders within Lighthouse as well as clients and partner organisations

  • Demonstration of leadership skill to motivate and engage the tutor and administration teams, as well as others across the business
