Head of Operations – Independent Training Provider
Location: Hybrid / West Midlands
Salary: £45K - £55K (Negotiable)

Our client specialise in delivering high-quality Apprenticeships, Adult Education Budget (AEB), Adult Skills Fund (ASF), and Skills Bootcamps. With a focus on learner success and industry-driven training, they are on an exciting journey of expansion, and we need a talented individual to help build and sustain the operational infrastructure to support this growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute an operational strategy that supports our business objectives and enables sustainable growth.
- Operational Management: Lead and manage the day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and quality frameworks (Ofsted, ESFA/Skills England)
- Process Improvement: Implement systems and processes that drive efficiency, enhance the learner experience, and ensure scalability as the organisation expands.
- Team Leadership: Manage and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Utilise data and analytics to monitor performance, identify areas for improvement, and inform strategic decisions.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including funders, employers, and awarding bodies.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all programmes meet quality and compliance standards, and support ongoing development in line with learner needs and market demands.
About You:
- Proven experience in a senior operational role within the education or skills sector, ideally within a training provider environment.
- Strong knowledge of Apprenticeships, AEB, ASF, and Bootcamps, including funding, quality, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage operations in a growing organisation.
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of implementing scalable systems and processes.
- Data-driven mindset, with the ability to use insights to inform strategic and operational decisions.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A passion for education, skills development, and supporting learner success.
