We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Functional Skills/ Learning Support Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in empowering individuals by teaching essential life skills that promote independence and enhance quality of life. This position requires strong communication abilities, effective presentation skills, and a commitment to fostering personal growth in others.
Responsibilities:
- Planning, developing and implementing a wide range of teaching and learner-centred strategies, that support the timely achievement of learners.
- Co-ordinating the effective use of teaching time and other resources.
- Promoting effective, learner-centred, independent learning strategies for apprentices at all levels of ability enabling them to participate and heighten their motivation and self-esteem.
- Working in partnership with the recruitment/IAG, training and admin departments to fully implement the ProVQ referral, induction, initial assessment, review and exit procedures for apprentices, to include specialist additional Learning Support assessments, as required.
- Working in partnership with the management and the leadership team to accurately complete Learning Support Funding documentation, ensuring that all evidence for Learning Support Funding is 100% audit compliant.
- Completing monthly performance data, as specified by the Head of Operations.
- Working with the awarding bodies to ensure that the Functional Skills/ Scottish Core Skills registration, examination, assessment/reasonable adjustment arrangements and validation requirements are fully met.
- Ensure the timely completion of all necessary documentation as required by ProVQ including contractual, quality and audit requirements, e.g. learner records, registers, reports and statistical data.
- Agree own objectives with the Head of Operations.
- To be committed to own development and participate in CPD programmes, as required.
- To comply with the ProVQ Health and Safety Policies.
- Work to promote, implement and contribute to ProVQ’s Equal and Diversity Policy.
- To apply ProVQ Safeguarding policy and practices.
- To support ProVQ in ensuring compliance with GDPR and the Data Protection Act.
- To undertake all other duties as may be reasonably required as requested by ProVQ Directors and Managers.
Experience:
- Proven experience in teaching or training roles, preferably within an Apprenticeship setting.
- Recognised 3 years' experience delivering maths and English Functional Skills, preferably within an Apprenticeship setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with educational technology and remote delivery.
- Teaching/Training qualification (Certificate in Education, AET, PTLLS)
- A basic understanding of Learner Support funding.
- General understanding of apprenticeship programmes.
- An understanding of safeguarding / Prevent / British Values and their importance.
- An understanding of Equal Opportunities issues.

Delivering Functional Skills, Scottish Core Skills and Learning Support workshops to groups and individual apprentices across the organisation, both face to face and remotely across our 3 sites located in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, Burnaston, Derbyshire and Upper Saxondale, Nottinghamshire.
